Magistrate Judge Faircloth Announces Retirement
After eleven
years of dedicated service, Magistrate Judge Mallon Faircloth has announced
his retirement, effective June 30, 2010. When he retires, Judge Faircloth
will have served thirtyfour years in the state and federal judiciaries.
As noted by U.S. District Judge Clay Land, those who have served with
Judge Faircloth in the Middle District will miss his intelligence, judicial
temperament, work ethic and friendship.
A Merit Selection Panel has
been appointed to review applications for Judge Faircloth’s successor
and recommend to the District Judges a list of five finalists. Applications
for the position can be obtained from the Middle District Website. The
application deadline is November 2, 2009.
