Thomasville Division ClosesOn August 2, 2007, the 11th Circuit Court of Appeals approved a request from this district to close the courthouse facility at Thomasville, Georgia. Thereafter on August 17, Chief Judge Lawson signed an Administrative Order directing the Clerk to affect the closing as soon as administratively possible. The counties of Brooks, Thomas and Colquitt shall be moved to the Valdosta division while the counties of Decatur, Seminole and Grady shall be moved to the Albany division. As of August 17, 2007, no new civil complaints or criminal indictments may be filed in the Thomasville division. All pending Thomasville cases will be transferred to either the Albany or Valdosta division depending on the county of origin. A copy of the new district map can be found here.
